Effortless Easter party made moms and darlings happy!
In the sunny afternoon of April 14, we had an Easter party at the pool side of Palms Country club.
Palms Country club is a complex with sports facilities, 3 restaurants, and daycare facilities near Alabang Village. Many of the Alabang residents are members there, since it is a nice place to hang out as an alternatives to spend relaxing time at home. There is a knee-deep kiddie pool, with convenient lounge chairs nearby, where we parents can just relax and watch the kids playing in the water. At the party, we had kids friendly food provided by Palms club. We had entertainers and glitter tattoo station, and, of course, egg hunting!
We divided the kids into age groups for egg hunting – below and above 3, with the egg hunting for the older kids made more challenging by more difficult hiding places for the eggs.4. To make it fair and fun for all, we made a rule that whoever gets more that 10 eggs had to share the excess eggs with other kids. When the egg hunt started, most of the moms assisted their kids to find the eggs. One mom would point to the eggs, exclaiming “Look! There is one.”, another mom would just follow the kids and take photos. I can see that, in the moment of egg hunting, all parents wants the best for their own kids, but what we can do is to guide and assist them.
For this party, we decided to make an effortless party for the participating moms by providing food – at other parties, we had requested moms to bring food and otherwise participate. Our set up, having the party in Palms, succeeded: tickets were entirely sold out and everyone had a great time. It was nice to see the kids running around on the well-maintained lawn, looking for Easter eggs.
I realize how important it is to have a party or event like this from time to time for all MADS members, in order to meet each other and to catch up. Especially, when on normal playgroup days, moms and kids are grouped into different age groups. So some of us can only meet with all of our MADS friends at a party like this. I myself made a few new friends this time and I was glad I was there. I met members that I haven't seen for a long time and the ability just to say “Hi! How are you? How have you been!?” is very important, I think.
Debbie, the MADS president, made her way all the way to Alabang from Makati - that also made us very happy.
It was the last party organized by this years MADS South party committee . We truly enjoyed working together to see everybody’s happy faces. And my extra bonus was to became good friends with Giang and Melissa. Thanks!
