MADS Diary for Chistmas Makati 2010....

Oh, I can't believe my eyes
And in my bones I feel the warmth
That's coming from inside"

It was a warm welcome from Santa and Makati Social Committee members for the MADS annual Christmas party! The party was held at the gymnasium of the British School.

The gymnasium was well set up with an abundance of open play area for those entertaining themselves as they waited to have their photo taken with Santa . Santa had a jolly spirit of kindness and he tentatively listened to each and every child’s Christmas wish!

The smell of baking (pizza and ginger bread!) warmed the air and spirits soared as children laughed or performed whilst cheering their peers! Everyone enjoyed the captivating talent shows involving mixed performances from ballerinas and live bands. The musical performances were uplifting and joyful , the sounds of Christmas were shared as Christmas hymns and the most updated sounds of summer were played by our little darlings! Well done to those wonderful performers! The dainty and tiny ballerinas were the most organised prancing on and off the stage to the delight of many.

Many were thrilled as we had our very own snow slide (a mere 20 metre drop not for the feint hearted) - straight from the north pole! Dads and mums alike hurled themselves down the slide, sharing the lane way with many well disguised elves and well behaved children with hope-filled eyes and pink cheeks roughened from the wind and snow!

The gym became a winter wonderland!

Christmas could not be same without our very own snow machine!! It was absolutely delightful to watch many children prance and dance (like reindeers) through the foam filled snow, each child attempting to out race each snow flake as it floated across the room and disappeared. There was a glow in the room, in particular friends and family had fun catching up as we all tried to squeeze every cherished moment into the festive season! It was a gentle and warm reminder of how much we treasure each other’s friendship and company. Every moment counts and every person contributed in their own special way.

Thanks to all the organisers and thanks to all the MADS members who supported the event, it was great to share so many special moments with other Mums and Dads whilst we remember the spirit of Christmas.
